I can't pay with a credit card. Are there other payment options?
We can only accept credit cards if you pay on the web at teuxdeux.com. But if you pay in our iPhone app, you can use all Apple-accepted payment methods, which includes PayPal and others.
If I paid in the web app, how do I cancel my subscription?
Log in to TeuxDeux in your browser, click on your username in the upper-right, and click on Subscription. Uncheck auto-renew and make sure to press Save. Your subscription will cancel at the end of your billing cycle, you’ll be able to use TeuxDeux until then, and you won’t be charged again (make sure to press Save!).
If I paid in the iPhone app with my Apple ID, how do I cancel my subscription?
Please turn off auto-renew for your TeuxDeux subscription with Apple. Here’s how.
Do I need to cancel my trial account?
Nope. You’re good. Trial accounts cancel automatically after 30 days.
How do I delete my account?
Log in to TeuxDeux in your browser, click on your username in the upper-right, and click on Settings. You’ll find a “Delete my account” link at the bottom. After following the instructions, this will delete your account immediately. You won’t be charged again. If you paid for your subscription in the iPhone app, don’t forget to turn off auto-renew with Apple (instructions).
Can I get a refund?
You are welcome to disable auto-renew or delete your account at any time. We currently do not offer refunds, but canceling auto-renew or deleting your account means that you won’t be charged again. Thanks for your understanding on this one.
Can I receive today's to-dos via email?
Yep! Just go into Settings in the web app. Under the Email tab, select a time and click save. You can also turn on the daily email under Settings in the iPhone app.
Can I also add to-dos via email?
Yep yep! You can do this by either replying to your email digest or by emailing the address that is assigned to you. TeuxDeux will add each line as a to-do until it hits a blank line, limited to 100 to-dos. If you need to add more than 100 to-dos in a single email, may we suggest a moment of personal reflection.
My to-dos added via email didn't appear right away!
Take a deep breath and give it a minute or two.
What if I no longer want to receive daily emails?
In the web app, go to Settings. In the Email tab, select 'never' for the delivery time and click Save. In the iPhone app, head to Settings, deselect “Email To-dos Daily,” and tap the checkmark in the top-right to save.
Web App Features
Can I print a beautiful copy of my TeuxDeux list?
Why yes, you can. We added a lovely print stylesheet that makes it easy. Just print and we take care of the styles.
Can I edit my to-dos?
You certainly can! Just double-click to edit. (If you accidentally single-click and mark a to-do as done, just single-click again to undo.)
I really need to create recurring to-dos.
Well, you're in luck. Just end any to-do with "every day", "every week", "every two weeks", "every month", or "every year". Also, not to nitpick, but that is more of a statement than a question.
Can you make links clickable?
We support Markdown, so yes! Try <https://teuxdeux.com/> or [TeuxDeux](https://teuxdeux.com/) to give it a whirl.
Can I drag an item into the past and have it stay there?
Yes. However, because TeuxDeux automatically brings your unfinished to-dos forward, the only to-dos that stay in the past are those that have been crossed off. If you want to move a to-do back in time, make sure it's crossed off.
Can you make it so that when I cross off a to-do, it goes to the bottom?
In our iPhone app, completed to-dos move immediately to the bottom of your list. On the web, completed to-dos will automatically move to the bottom every 5 minutes, and manually refreshing the page will move them to the bottom even faster.
Negative Nancy Time
Can you let us create custom backgrounds?
No, I think Myspace has that.
What about color coding to-dos in a list?
No. However, there are other ways you can organize your TeuxDeux lists using the functionality already at your disposal. How about:
# Priority every day → For a “Priority” header that repeats every day. Or you could try “Day” and “Evening” headers to split your to-dos into work and fun.
--- → Use dashed lines to separate longer lists into manageable chunks.
Project: Task → Start your to-dos with the name of your project. Follow up with the task.
!**Important Task** → Start with exclamation points or use **bold** to add emphasis.
* Subtask → Use asterisks or dashes to create subtasks.
Organize your to-dos in order of priority.
Use a “Later” Someday List to save to-dos for later.
TeuxDeux should be cheaper.
Can you email me alerts for the to-dos in my TeuxDeux list?
No, that feels pretty redundant. Overthrow your email overlord and join us in the lovely hot spring of TeuxDeux.
Can we have a view with 7 days instead of 5?
Regrettably, no. We want you to watch happily as your work week ticks away. Then, when the weekend comes, soak up all the fun. Your to-dos for the weekend should generally only be things like: “Drink lemonade in a hammock,” “Take 3 naps,” and “Hit the beach.”
Can you make it so “Today” is always in the far left column?
No, for pretty much the same reason as above.
Can you provide a month view, so I can scan everything I need to do this month?
We do have Summary View on our iPhone app that shows your future non-recurring to-dos at a glance. Pretty spicy.
Can I add notes to the to-dos in my TeuxDeux list?
No, but you can use Markdown to format your to-dos. For example, you can *italicize* the note, or you can **bold** the actual to-do.
iPhone App Features
How much does the iPhone app cost?
You can get the TeuxDeux iPhone app for the bargain basement price of zero dollars.
Shucks. Sounds like a bargain to me.
You are a wise and learned individual.
I don't like iPhones. Can you make an app for Android or Blackberry?
TeuxDeux works great on mobile web browsers right now, but we might look into making a native app for your phone later.
How do I make a new to-do?
There are now three different ways: tap on the plus button in the lower right, tap the blank space at the bottom of your list, or pull down on your list when you're already at the top. Abracadabra.
How do I edit a to-do?
Simply swipe left to edit.
How do I delete a to-do?
We know you didn't mean to add that to-do. Your secret is safe with us. To delete it, swipe from right to left until edit turns to delete.
How do I mark my to-dos done?
Tap once and you’ll be good to go. Tap again to uncomplete.
How do I switch colors? Turn on the flying cat? Enable Thumb Nav?
Head to your Someday Lists and tap on the gear in the upper right to access the Settings screen. From there, you can turn on all sorts of fanciness.
Anything else hidden in the iPhone app Settings?
You can start your week on different days, hide completed todos, and other fun stuff.
I’m updating my Settings, but none of my changes are sticking.
Don’t forget to tap the checkmark in the upper right to save your changes.
Can I make my to-dos repeat in the iPhone app? Move them to a different day or to a Someday List?
Sure. Swipe left to edit a to-do then tap on the icons in the lower left. They’ll let you make it a recurring to-do, change dates, or move it to a Someday List. Tap the checkmark in the upper right to save, or the X in the upper left to cancel.
Hold on a second. Can I use Markdown in the iPhone app?
What is this crazy Timeline View I keep hearing about?
From your to-do list, tap the hamburger icon in the upper left, then tap TIMELINE. You will enter a magical land called Timeline View. It gives you an overview of your upcoming to-dos.

Same place! Tap the the hamburger icon in the upper left and you'll see them all there. Just tap on any list to switch to it and use the hamburger menu again to switch back to your main list.
Do I need to sync manually?
Nope. No pull down, no sync button. Syncing between the web app and the iPhone app just works. You’ll see a tiny little “Syncing” message at the bottom when it syncs.
Subscribing with the iPhone App
Can I pay for a TeuxDeux subscription in the iPhone app?
Yes, you can! The iPhone app will prompt you to subscribe, then all it takes is an Apple ID and an Apple-approved payment method.
How do I manage my TeuxDeux subscription with Apple?
If you paid for your subscription in the iPhone app, here’s how to view, change, or cancel your TeuxDeux subscription. If you paid on the web, you can manage your subscription directly in the TeuxDeux web app under Subscription.
I want to switch from using my Apple ID to paying the old-fashioned way through TeuxDeux. Can I do that?
Yes, but you’ll need to turn off auto-renew in your Apple account (instructions), let your subscription expire, and then subscribe again through TeuxDeux in your web browser. Don’t worry, your to-dos will survive the transition. No sweat.
Why can’t I sign up for multiple accounts with my Apple ID?
Apple only allows one TeuxDeux subscription per device with your Apple ID. Please sign up for additional accounts at teuxdeux.com in your web browser. You can still use those additional logins on your mobile device.
I paid for TeuxDeux using my Apple ID in the iPhone app, but it still says I’m a trial user.
First try force quitting and restarting the TeuxDeux iPhone app. If that doesn’t work, you can tap “Restore Purchases” on the TeuxDeux iPhone app Settings screen. If it’s still not fixed, please check out these troubleshooting tips.
I’m having lots of trouble with this Apple signup stuff. What can I do?
